TR8 Air Filter Replacements
TR8 air filters are all but impossible to find now, so replacement TR8 parts have to be used. This page lists the replacement parts I and others have found to work well. That does not mean they are exact replacements and no warranty is inferred or implied that they are right for the job, other then some of us have used them and found them to be effective when the originals can no longer be found. You should satisfy yourself they are right for your car before fitting them! Replacement TR8 Parts for both Carburettor and Efi Models
TR8 CARBURETTOR – AIR FILTER GFE1124 (GFE1060 also used)
K&N AIR FILTER 33-2727
33-2727 is apparently a K&N replacement for WA300 which is a replacement for AAU7342 (Land Rover) which is a replacement for the standard TR8 filter GFE1124.
K&N 33-2727 are pretty much a direct replacement less a little squeezing in at the ends by a few mm but once you put the top on it holds it all in place firmly. So this is now my filter of choice.

33-2094 fits very well in the hole in the air box, they aren’t as deep at the edges, so you need some foam blocks or similar and so the other part of the air box will hold them firm when closed. If you don’t they will slide around a bit and may let air past them!

Land Rover Air Filter AAU7342
The air filters for the Stromberg fitted TR8’s are still available in stock from Land Rover suppliers. As can be seen in the photo they are exact replacements and are listed by LR stockists as Australian spec Range Rover with carbs. (They are fitted with the same air boxes as the TR8). Part number is WA300 for replacement OR AAU7342 for original which at the time of writing can be found HERE
TR8 Efi – AIR FILTER GFE1093
K&N AIR FILTER 33-2744
While they fit, they are a tight fit so you may wish to shave a bit off the rubber to make them fit better. Personally I find once the top of the air box is secure they are perfectly fine. K&N AIR FILTER 33-2112 is another option but this one is slightly looser. Swings and roundabouts really depending on your preference.
